The Second Half

Basically, I don't know when I'm ever going to have the dedication to update this everyday. Lame. There are just too many other things to worry about. Anyway, here's a rundown on the rest of the week.

Thursday: Workout 3 (Intervals: 6 x 200 m). I did an 8:52 mile as a warm-up, and also to get me to a good side street that wasn't too hilly. Then did my 200 m sprints, with 2:30 rest in between each one. Here's how they went:
1- 0:46 (slight overall downhill)
2- 0:45 (slight overall downhill)
3- 0:47 (slight overall uphill)
4- 0:46 (slight overall uphill)
5- 0:43 (slight overall downhill)
6- 0:46 (slight overall uphill)
The sprints felt pretty good. I was proud of my times. Hard to believe I did the 5th one at a sub-6 mile pace. Hard to believe I'm even capable of that. But I love it. Speed is my favorite. I would so much prefer to go out and sprints than to go out and do 5 miles or whatever. But that's just me. Anyway, then I ran .75 mi to get home in about 6:50. Good workout. Total of 2.5 miles.

Friday: 20 min run. Was dreading it last night... probably just because I had put it off all day.... harder to make myself do it in the evenings, I think. Anyway, since I was feeling crappy, I just went to the treadmill and watched SNL's Best of Jimmy Fallon clips on tv while I ran a slow 2 miles. At least the show was entertaining.

Saturday: 30 min run was scheduled, but we found out our church was doing a Family Fun 5k as a boy's Eagle Project. It cost at least one canned good per entrant to race. So, I decided to do my first double stroller 5k race, since i figured that would take me 30 minutes or more and cover my workout requirement for the day.
It was an early one, so the hubby and I loaded the kids into the car around 6 am and made our way to the race. It went pretty well. The Hubby won first overall, which is pretty normal at these little races for him. He's an awesome runner. I don't know what I placed at all, but I hit 5k on the Garmin at 30:10. And considering I had to do quick stops multiple times in the first quarter mile (since it's difficult to pass and get around people with a big, bulky stroller), I'd say that's pretty good. Under 10 minute pace, so I'm happy. They had measured the course long though, so I officially finished in like 31:48 or something.
Anyway, it was a good way to get the workout in. Plus, it's too fun to pass everyone when you're a lady pushing 2 kids. I didn't get passed even once, spent the whole time passing others. Is it wrong for me to enjoy making people feel inadequate? Bad Hayley. Sorry, the racing takes over sometimes. I really am a very nice person normally. Promise.
