And then... on a warm and sunny Wednesday evening... my new running companion showed up. My loving husband got it all together, and even attached the tedious car seat adapter for me as soon as it got here. Yes, BOB and I are already good friends. We had an awesome time getting to know each other yesterday.
I waited till like 11:30 to go out, since I knew both kids would be readyish for a nap. Off we went, and both kids were asleep within like 5 minutes. Thank you, BOB! It is incredibly wonderful to push. Although, I will admit, the uphills are pretty stinking killer. That's a lot of weight to push. Anyway, I didn't want to get discouraged, so I did walking, jogging intervals... simply based on how I felt and what the terrain was like. I walked when there were really steep hills, but also made sure that none of my running intervals were less than half a miles. So I did 3 half miles runs, then the last set was a full mile.
It all felt great. That's my first 2.5 mile run since the baby.... probably not because I haven't been capable, but because there was always a baby or toddler waiting for me to come back in... but they were peacefully with me the whole time, so I was out there for an hour. The 2.5 running miles were done in 24:04, which I am very happy with, since I thought the stroller would slow me down much more. I probably walked a total of 2ish miles, maybe a little more.... and it was hot and muggy, and I was sweaty.... should have been miserable, but I loved it. Looking forward to more. I think BOB and I are in it for the long haul together.
